Sequence 1: The part on the bench

Ivo lays the removed brass control on a repair-bay bench while the harbour mechanic and Tamsin inspect it. A checked replacement sits beside the old assembly. The house branch remains tagged ISOLATED. Ivo records the removal; Tamsin turns the log towards him.

Ivo: "That is the part I left off the record."

Mechanic: "This one comes out of service."

Tamsin: "Keep the old part with its record."

Sequence 2: Two repairs

Mara and Tamsin watch the mechanic inspect the repaired area and support collar on the immense white caisson. The pale repair seam is closed. In the pipe bay, Ivo exercises the replacement brass control. Tamsin places the separate caisson and valve records side by side.

Mechanic: "The caisson repair passes its check."

Tamsin: "Two faults. Two completed records."

Sequence 3: The shore checks

Mara and the mechanic inspect the protected connection bays. Harbour crew check the borrowed teal-and-brass stabiliser on its support feet, with the empty dolly nearby. Tamsin compares installation and test records. Mara stands beside the maintenance list and REVISED LIFT WINDOW notice.

Tamsin: "The shore checks match the tested plan."

Mara: "For the load on this page."

Sequence 4: An answer now

Oren holds his own house key while Tamsin confirms the assessment. He reads the conditions and his no-new-load agreement. Edda reassures him about the room already promised. Oren gives his permission to connect the foundation.

Tamsin: "The assessment is complete."

Oren: "And my room stays mine?"

Edda: "It was never the price of your answer."

Oren: "Then connect it under these conditions."

Sequence 5: Five foundations

Harbour crew complete the authorised connection while Mara, Tamsin and Oren observe. Tamsin places the record beside the five-foundation plan. Mara watches five indicators. The five immense white caissons remain supported above low water.

Tamsin: "Five foundations. One declared load."

Mara: "We keep the manual watch."

Sequence 6: Someone at the door

Oren brings Anja along the guarded walkway. She has a short dark bob with a silver streak, plum coat, cream bag and rolled house drawing. Edda invites her into the kitchen, where the kiln hearth is empty. Anja unrolls her separate drawing beside the existing plan.

Oren: "This is Anja. We shared a shelter landing."

Anja: "They tagged my house to stay down."

Edda: "Come in."

Sequence 7: The sixth drawing

Anja asks about adding her house. Mara studies the separate drawing. Anja looks between the two sheets. Tamsin keeps the completed approval on the existing five-foundation plan.

Anja: "Can mine come with you?"

Mara: "We have tested five foundations."

Anja: "Mine would make six."

Tamsin: "It would need a different assessment."

Sequence 8: No hidden addition

Oren places his agreement beside the drawings. Mara listens to him and Anja. Anja starts rolling her house drawing closed. Edda places a cup before her as the table falls quiet.

Oren: "I brought her to ask. Not to slip her in."

Mara: "I know."

Anja: "Then where does that leave me?"

Sequence 9: The room already promised

Edda shows Anja the narrow bed and crowded shelves in Oren's converted store room. Oren waits outside. Anja checks the small floor space. Edda looks at work supplies crowded into her kitchen and then draws the store-room door towards her.

Edda: "There is one bed here."

Anja: "There is room to stand. Not to live together."

Edda: "I cannot promise the same room twice."

Sequence 10: The house without a room

From the safe doorway, Anja and Mara look into Oren's damaged living rooms, where plaster is broken and timber supports hold the ceiling. Mara indicates the unusable space. Anja grips her house drawing. They return along the guarded walkway towards the kitchen.

Anja: "Its foundation can work."

Mara: "The rooms cannot. Not yet."

Anja: "I have a roof drawn on paper too."

Sequence 11: An address

Anja opens her cream bag to show folded clothes, a small photograph of her house and a floral sewing case. She places the open sewing kit beside her cup. Ivo listens across the table with his repair log closed. Anja turns the household and cost pages towards him.

Anja: "The shelter gives me a night."

Anja: "I need an address. And somewhere to work."

Ivo: "That belongs in the cost column."

Anja: "And my name belongs on the other page."

Sequence 12: A different question

Mara places a fresh household sheet beside the existing plan. Tamsin opens the allowance and distribution record. Anja keeps her own house drawing rolled. Mara answers her across the table.

Mara: "We can assess you and your belongings."

Tamsin: "With a real room and a revised distribution."

Anja: "My house stays behind."

Mara: "Yes."

Sequence 13: The unused floor

Mara stands at her empty upper-room doorway with the chipped yellow cup. Her slate-blue bag rests on a chair. She surveys the unused floor, rug, small table beside teal shutters and wooden chest. A folded PRIVATE SALE OFFER lies beneath her working notebook. She picks up her bag and turns towards the stair, leaving the door open. This sequence is silent.

Sequence 14: Her own offer

Mara returns to Anja, Edda and Oren at the kitchen table. Anja asks her a direct question. Mara sets the room key beside the fresh assessment sheet. Tamsin places the room assessment beside the allowance record.

Mara: "There is an upper room in my house."

Anja: "Are you offering it?"

Mara: "If we can make it work. With terms we all see."

Tamsin: "Then we measure it before anyone moves in."

Sequence 15: A door opened

Mara and Anja stand at the open upper-room doorway, with Edda holding a measuring tape behind them. Anja holds her floral sewing kit and looks towards the window. Mara surveys the clear floor. The final view from inside frames all three women, ready to measure; a folded paper remains on the table.

Anja: "I would need the table near that window."

Mara: "We can start with the table."
