Cookies and browser storage
Cookies are small records saved by your browser. Local storage is another way for a website to remember information on your device. WebtoonHaven uses first-party storage for reader preferences and available reading features. Authorised staff sign-in also uses WordPress authentication cookies.
Reader preferences and saved items

These records use local storage, with no automatic expiry set by the reader. They remain until you or your browser clear the relevant site data. Local storage is not automatically sent with every page request as a cookie is. For signed-in users, available reading features may also synchronise with their account.
Optional guest reading history
Guests can choose “Remember my place on this device” in an eligible public reader or series page. It is off by default. The wh-guest-reading-v1 local-storage record keeps up to 50 series, with an episode ID, an artwork reference and position, a last-use time and a local reset marker. It contains no email, account token or free text. The feature does not send this history to an account, analytics or a server.
Each saved place expires after 90 days without an update. The remembering preference also expires after 90 days without saving a reading movement, enabling the feature or clearing history. Resume and Continue do not extend this period. Expired records are ignored on later visits. Your browser may retain the underlying data until it is overwritten or cleared. Use “Clear this series’ place”, “Clear all saved places”, or turn remembering off to remove this feature’s records. These controls keep Save, Follow and display preferences intact.
Resume requires your choice and never jumps automatically on page load. Guest history saves and resumes on individual chapter pages, including Webtoon flow. Saving and Resume pause in full screen and automatic whole-series mode. After additional chapters load, reopen an individual chapter page to resume saving. Storage restrictions, private browsing and cleared site data may prevent a place from being remembered. Reading remains available when the feature is off or storage fails.
Reader-rating cookie
Choosing to rate creates wh_reader_ballot, a first-party cookie lasting up to 365 days. It lets the same browser update or remove its scores. An ordinary visitor merely opening the rating panel does not create a rating cookie.
The cookie identifies a browser ballot, not a verified unique person. A reader can remove an existing ballot even if new voting is paused. If you want to delete a ballot, use the removal control before clearing the cookie; afterwards we cannot reconnect your browser to that earlier ballot. Other technologies and future changes
Hosting, security and delivery systems may process technical information when a page loads. Browser storage and server logs are different: clearing cookies does not erase a hosting log or an email you have sent. The privacy notice explains the relevant purposes and retention approach.
Public newsletter sign-up, checkout and account registration are closed. Optional advertising, analytics or embedded services must have any required information and consent controls before activation. This notice is not a claim that every hosting or third-party technology has been independently audited.
Your choices
Your browser’s site-data controls let you inspect, block and remove cookies and local storage for WebtoonHaven.com. Removing data can reset reader preferences, saved items or sign-in sessions. Blocking storage can prevent those features from remembering your choices. Where consent is requested for an optional technology, you must be able to decline and later withdraw it.
