WebtoonHaven

Privacy policy

How WebtoonHaven intends to collect, use, retain and protect personal data.

Updated 10 September 2026.

Who is responsible

WebtoonHaven.com is operated by its individual domain owner, based in the United Kingdom, who is responsible for the service and its handling of personal data. WebtoonHaven Editorial Team is the contact point for privacy requests, support and legal concerns at contact@webtoonhaven.com.

The owner’s registration details are held by the domain registrar. Requests for non-public registration details are subject to the registrar’s lawful disclosure procedures. This does not limit any disclosure required by applicable law.

Reading without an account

You can read the published comics without supplying your name or email address. Public registration, external submissions, comments, written reviews, newsletter subscriptions and paid services are closed. Reader ratings are installed, but public voting is not yet open. The ratings page shows the feature’s current status.

Information used by the service

Why we use information

We use information to provide and protect the reading service, respond to enquiries, investigate content and rights concerns, and meet applicable legal obligations. For necessary service administration, security and correspondence, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating a useful, secure website and responding to people who contact us, subject to their rights and interests. Where processing is necessary to meet a legal obligation, that obligation is the basis. If a feature requires consent, it must offer an appropriate choice before that processing begins.

Who may receive information

Access is limited to the operator, authorised Editorial Team members and service providers where needed for their work. These providers cover hosting, security, backups and email delivery. The current service uses Hostinger for hosting and email forwarding, and Google for receipt of forwarded support email. These providers’ systems may involve processing outside the United Kingdom; this notice does not promise UK-only storage. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your enquiry.

Relevant information may also be disclosed where necessary to investigate or respond to a rights concern, obtain professional advice, or comply with a lawful request or legal obligation. We do not publish private correspondence as reader reviews or sell support messages as a marketing list.

How long information is kept

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose described in this notice, or to meet a legal obligation. Where there is no fixed period, we use the following criteria:

Our retention policy is to delete or anonymise information once the relevant purpose and any lawful retention requirement have ended. A preservation requirement applies only to relevant information, not an unrestricted right to keep everything indefinitely.

Rating records and your controls

When public voting opens, choosing to rate creates the first-party wh_reader_ballot cookie for up to 365 days. The live rating table stores a keyed hash of its random identifier with the series, scores, moderation status and last update time. Ballots expire 365 days after their last update, are excluded from results at expiry, and are removed by daily and request-time cleanup.

Use the same browser to change or remove your ballot. Removal remains available if new voting is paused. Clearing the cookie prevents us from reconnecting you to an earlier ballot, so remove the ballot first if that is what you want. Temporary keyed network identifiers used to limit requests expire after 24 hours. The rating tables do not store raw IP addresses; hosting logs are separate. The moderation tool retains its latest 100 review actions, with internal record and reviewer identifiers, dates and reasons. Editorial test ballots do not count publicly.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict processing, or receive information in a portable form. You can withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Your right to object

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Tell the Editorial Team which processing concerns you and why. We will consider the request under the applicable rules.

Send requests to contact@webtoonhaven.com. We may need proportionate information to locate a record or verify a request. Please do not send identity documents, a home address, medical records or financial details unless a specific need has been explained. You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Children and privacy

The catalogue includes All ages and Teen stories. These are content labels, not age verification. Reading does not require a public profile. Children should avoid sending private identifying details or information about other people. A parent or guardian can contact the Editorial Team with a privacy concern. Public collection through ratings remains closed while the outstanding opening checks are completed.

Changes

We will update this notice when the service or its data practices change. A future account, newsletter, external submission or paid service will need appropriate information and controls before it opens.
