Reader ratings

Rankings

Judge the stories, artwork and reading experience for yourself.

Explore reader opinions with the production method in view. The same criteria apply to every series: Overall, Story, Artwork and Reading experience. Studio originals remain free to read, whatever scores they receive.

The rating system is installed and undergoing launch checks. Public voting opens when those checks are complete. No scores have been seeded or invented.

Choose a production category and a criterion below. Human-created work will appear only when such work is published with a clear production declaration.

How reader ratings work

Each browser can maintain one 1-5 rating per series. Overall is required; Story, Artwork and Reading experience are optional. Changing your score replaces it. Removing your score removes it from the live totals. The same series ballot appears on its episode pages.

Scores are arithmetic averages of active reader ballots from the past 365 days. Optional criteria have their own vote counts. A series needs at least five votes for the selected criterion to receive a ranking; smaller samples appear separately as early scores. Equal averages share a rank. Numbers are rounded for display.

Production labels give context, not a quality verdict. Studio originals use AI-assisted production, including generated artwork. Human-created labels require a creator declaration. We do not infer human production from missing information. These are self-selected reader opinions, not a controlled study or proof of one production method being better.

Editorial test ballots never count publicly. Rate limits and a signed browser cookie reduce casual repeat voting, but a browser is not a verified unique person. Clearing cookies or using other devices can defeat this control. Suspected manipulation can be held for review; disagreement or a low score is not a reason to remove a rating.

Your rating data

Choosing to rate sets the first-party wh_reader_ballot cookie, lasting up to 365 days. We store a keyed hash of its random identifier with the series, scores and last update time. We do not ask for your name, email or written comments. Short-lived keyed network identifiers limit requests and expire after 24 hours; the rating database does not store raw IP addresses. Hosting access logs are separate.

Use the same browser to change or remove a ballot. If you clear the cookie, we cannot reconnect you to that ballot. Live ballots expire 365 days after their last update and are excluded immediately at expiry; daily and request-time cleanup remove expired records. Backup retention is separate and must be described in the site's privacy policy before public collection opens.
