Treat the reading page as part of the comic. Panel size, image order and loading behaviour all affect whether a reader can enjoy the story.
Keep an editable master separately from the file you plan to publish. Export a delivery copy so later adjustments do not damage the original artwork. Use clear filenames with the story name and page number, then check that the upload order matches the reading order.
Choose framing that remains understandable at a small display size. A wide establishing shot can set a scene, but a tiny object should not carry the entire ending unless a later panel shows it clearly. Move closer for a facial expression, a note or a revealing detail.
Before exporting, inspect the panel edges and the space around lettering. Look for clipped balloons, accidental blank strips and essential details sitting too close to a crop. If a long comic is split into several images, place the breaks where they preserve the intended pause and never cut through dialogue.
Compare the exported file with the master. Compression may soften small letters or break up delicate lines. A smaller file is useful only while the story stays readable. Follow the actual publishing platform’s accepted formats and size limits; these vary and should be checked at upload time.
Preview the version delivered by the website after upload. A platform may create smaller images or change the file format. Check the first page, the smallest lettering and the most detailed panel. Confirm that the transcript still appears if the artwork is slow to load.
Check the page on both a narrow screen and a wider display. Watch for horizontal scrolling, images that stretch beyond their container, unexpected cropping and controls covering the artwork. Move through Previous, Next and the collection link to confirm the episode order.
Keep a small release record: the final title, page order, delivery filenames, content warnings, transcript and credits. This makes a later correction easier and helps you distinguish an approved page from an older export.
Try this: open one of your pages at phone width and step through it without enlarging the image. Write down every place you hesitate. Adjust the drawing, lettering or pacing where the hesitation comes from the page itself.
