The Houses We Carry, episode 7. Fifteen vertical sequences, sixty panels.

Sequence 1: A place to watch

Mara, Ivo, Tamsin and Oren gather around an isolated water basin containing five small white ceramic model caissons. Ivo places a bench for Edda beside the spectator rail. Tamsin crouches to inspect the space beneath the freestanding tank. Oren holds his room key while speaking to Mara.

Tamsin: "Nothing here is connected to a house."

Oren: "Then show us what you mean to build."

Sequence 2: The proposal

Mara lays a five-foundation proposal beside the closed brown load book. Five model caissons float on square platforms in the separate test basin, joined by teal hoses. Oren asks about his house. Mara explains the limit of the proposal.

Mara: "Especially that part."

Sequence 12: A useful argument

Ivo stands by the stopped basin, where the same five linked models and test weight remain. Mara considers the fault. Tamsin posts the suspension notice with the wave trace beneath its heading, then addresses the households.

Ivo: "We have less time now."

Mara: "We had the same fault before we saw it."

Tamsin: "The application is suspended."

Tamsin: "Changes first. Then another test."

Sequence 14: Two different lists

Mara begins a clean page at the workshop table, with the suspension notice visible behind her. Tamsin places the load book beside the page. Ivo looks down at his worn tool belt, against the workshop wall. Mara holds her own travel bag as she answers.

Mara: "We must change how it moves."

Tamsin: "And what it carries."

Ivo: "Some of that is how we earn."

Mara: "Then we start with all of it. Mine included."

Sequence 15: Tomorrow's weight

Edda rests a hand on the cold kiln. Ivo stands at his workbench looking at his tools. Mara kneels beside her closed travel case; her chipped yellow cup is nearby. Outside, warm windows overlook mostly exposed tidal flats. The terracotta houses stand on huge white ceramic caissons, with protected walkways between them. Oren is visible in a lit doorway while the neighbouring house stays dark.
