The Scarf at the Door, page 1. A full transcript follows the comic.

Transcript

Panel 1: At the library's open doorway on a crisp day, the ghost librarian huddles slightly as leaves blow past. The child notices, carrying a long red knitted scarf.
Ghost librarian: "A little chilly."

Panel 2: The child offers the red scarf around the ghost's shoulders. Part of the scarf becomes translucent as it passes through the ghost's body; the child holds its ends and sees that it will not stay.
Child: "That won't stay."

Panel 3: The child wraps the red scarf around the lower outside of a brass lantern that contains a small softly glowing magical light, no exposed flame. The child sets it safely on a stone ledge.
Child: "Try the warm end."

Panel 4: The ghost floats happily close to the glowing lantern, warming its rounded hands in the gentle light. The child smiles beside it; the scarf stays wrapped round the lantern base.
Ghost librarian: "Perfect fit."
