Episode summary

An offer from her old agency puts Haneul's long-held ambition within reach. At the tea house, the space everyone gives her feels unexpectedly lonely.

Panel 1: Haneul walks alone across the autumn courtyard beside the tea house's open raised wooden veranda. She wears her teal calf-length coat, grey wrap layer, charcoal trousers, brown boots and red scarf with two front ends. The mountain landscape lies behind her. Panel 2: Haneul leans towards the wooden veranda and sets her phone face up on its edge with her left hand. Both boots remain on the courtyard paving. Mi-rae and Min-ji are visible inside. The phone rests on the timber before Haneul picks it up with her right hand after the insert.
Panel 3: A black phone rests face up on the sunlit wooden veranda edge. Its light email screen shows a Korean job-offer email from Design team to Haneul, headed Offer of the Head of Design role. The message offers her that role and asks to speak today. The screen has a normal email toolbar, sender chip and recipient details. Two curved, tailless cream reading bubbles above the phone provide the unchanged English meaning. Panel 4: Haneul has picked up her phone in her right hand. She raises her eyes towards the listeners off panel, revealing that the message is from her old agency. Her face and red scarf remain clearly visible.
Panel 5: Bit sits upright on the wooden floor just inside the open doorway, ears lifted towards Haneul off panel. His single tail stretches along the floor behind him, with an intact terminal tuft. His expression gives the question a dry, hopeful air. Panel 6: Outside the tea-house veranda in the same afternoon light, Haneul holds her phone in her right hand below her face. In her teal coat, grey wrap layer and red scarf with two front ends, she looks up and admits how long she wanted the role. Her face, phone hand and scarf remain visible.
Panel 7: At the open tea-house doorway, Mi-rae listens in her cream jumper, red scarf and navy apron. Min-ji stands inside in her paint-marked navy jacket and uniform, holding her closed green sketchbook with both hands. Their attentive faces offer Haneul space to speak. Panel 8: Haneul stands with her phone lowered in her right hand. She looks towards the listeners off panel with a small, wounded question. Behind her, the open tea house and autumn courtyard remain in ordinary afternoon light.
Panel 9: A closer view holds on Mi-rae and Min-ji as they look towards Haneul off panel. Mi-rae remains attentive at the doorway in her red scarf and navy apron. Min-ji holds her closed green sketchbook lower against her uniform. Neither interrupts. Panel 10: Mi-rae quietly sets a cream tea cup with a blue rim stripe on the wooden veranda edge. Her scarf is tucked behind her navy apron, and her hand and the cup base meet the supporting timber naturally. Haneul's coat and bent knee are visible at the right edge as she settles beside the veranda.
Panel 11: Haneul sits on the wooden veranda edge, her brown boots resting on the courtyard paving. Her hands rest separately on her lap as she looks down. A tea cup and her face-up phone lie fully supported on the timber beside her. Her two red scarf ends remain visible. Panel 12: Haneul sits on the wooden veranda edge and looks towards her phone as its pale screen lights beside the tea cup. Both objects remain supported on the timber. Bit sits farther inside the veranda, his single tail lying behind him with its intact terminal quarter matte and unlit. No new screen writing is visible yet.
Panel 13: Haneul holds the phone upright in her right hand. Its muted teal incoming-call screen shows the saved Korean contact Design team beneath a default contact avatar, with a green answer handset at the left, a red decline handset at the right and a Send message option below. A curved, tailless cream reading bubble gives the unchanged English meaning. The tea cup remains on the veranda in the background. Panel 14: Still seated on the wooden veranda edge, Haneul holds the phone to her right ear and answers. Her free hand rests on her knee. Her two red scarf ends remain in front, and the untouched tea cup stands on the timber beside her. Her expression remains composed but undecided.
